Monster Mania and the Trek Exhibit

I first stopped by on Friday night to raid the dealer’s room and found a few things. On Sunday I returned to the Dealer’s Room and now are the proud owner of the two Mego recreations that were released in the Night of the Living Dead collection of 4. That included the hero, Ben and the first zombie we see in the classic 1960s movie at the grave yard. Barbara and the child zombie (who I interviewed a year or so ago) will be released by Fearwerx.com shortly. They were among the vendors at the con.

I took a number of photos on Sunday and enjoyed the world premiere of the rough cut of a horror film called "Black Waters of Echo Pond" which starred Robert Patrick (of Terminator II and The X-Files) and I have to say, it was pretty good.

I got to the con on a possible mission for Beryl on Saturday night and watched the film "Sleepaway Camp" from 1982. It was a nice combination of camp, humor and horror. The cast had a mini reunion during the con.

Check out photos here!

Adam West, TV’s Batman from the 1960s was among the guests. The Batmobile from the show was also present during the weekend. Actress Kelly Labrock of "Weird Science" fame was there as were director John Landis and David Naughton of "An American Werewolf In London.” Landis spoke about his time directing Michael Jackson in "Thriller" perhaps one of the most famous music videos of all time. He described Jackson who was 21 at the time, "as a very gifted 9-year-old who lived in his own private world.”

John Astin (Gomez of the Addam’s Family) and Erin "Wilma Deering of Buck Rogers" Gray were also present.

All in all, between that and our time at the Star Trek Exhbit on Saturday where we joined members of the USS Sovereign, USS Matrix, USS Abraham Lincoln and visitors from the USS Justice and USS Malverne it was a busy fun filled weekend!
