10 Questions – Laura Victor
Position onboard?
Chief Communications Officer and Webmaster.
How long have you been a member?
Joined Challenger in 2006 (been a member of STARFLEET since 1999!)
Favorite Star Trek Series?
Deep Space Nine. Great sets, best uniforms, everyone drank coffee, and it had the best sci-fi bar, hands-down. Quark had fabulous fashion sense, and wasn’t afraid to wear coattails after noon.
Favorite Trek Character?
Odo and Seven of Nine. Both are made of awesome. I wonder what their offspring would look like.
Favorite Sci-Fi, Non-Trek Series?
The new Battlestar Galactica (when I’m in a serious mood) and Red Dwarf (when I’m being myself.)
Favorite TV Show Overall?
Mad Men. Partly because it’s a thought-provoking, introspective baby-boomer’s sentimental meditation on postmodern urban culture. But mostly for the fabulous hairdo’s and clothes.
Favorite Movie?
The original Star Wars trilogy, Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek: First Contact, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Alien & Aliens, and Terminarors 1 and 2.
Favorite Book or Book Series?
Seven Years of Highly Defective People, by Dilbert author Scott Adams. He predicted that the Holodeck “would be mankind’s greatest invention… and its last.”
Other things you like to do outside of the club?
Design Web sites, both professionally and just for kicks, baby, KICKS!
I’m also an avid cook, a budding gardener, and quite possibly the worst player in the entire world of “Star Trek:Online.”
Why did you join Challenger?
I’ve been friends with Challenger ever since joining STARFLEET, and when the time came to retire to regular Joe Member status, they welcomed me with open arms! The fact that my fiancee was a longtime member may have had something to do with it too… 😉
